An evening at Ronnie Scott’s

I went dine at Ronnie Scott’s last Monday evening, London’s legendary jazz club and what an evening it was. I didn’t really know what to expect as I have never been to a Jazz club before, so I was really excited about the evening ahead.

As soon as I walked into the restaurant it was dark and I couldn’t see a thing (great start) but straight away the waiter walked me to our seats. The musicians were playing, everyone was talking, drinking and the atmosphere was just buzzing!!

As soon as I looked at the menu I knew what to order. I went for diver-caught Scottish king scallops with cauliflower purée and vanilla foam to start with, fillet of halibut with braised salsify, pancetta, charlotte potatoes and saffron butter sauce for mains, we then shared the apple and cinnamon tart with prune Armagnac cream for desert. We drank cosmopolitans, prosecco and a few too many glasses of muscat to end the evening nicely (well of what i can remember!!)

I can’t recommend the place enough, the music, food, atmosphere and waiters were all amazing! It is definitely somewhere to go for a special occasion, I was certainly impressed.

I wasn’t allowed to take pics.. but this is what it looks like to give you a feel of the place!

Whats is your favourite London restaurant?

Barrior Central Review

Thursday nights are the new Friday nights…so my bessie and I went for dinner and cocktails at Barrio Central! As soon as I walked in, the place was buzzing with quite a ‘party like’ atmosphere; it was 7.45 on a Thursday night and it felt like everyone was preparing for the weekend!
The waitress was very attentive; as soon as I walked in she asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a bottle of white wine off the discount menu, which meant we got £5 off (always a plus before pay day!!)

If you are feeling a few cocktails on a week night definitely head to Barrio Central, as they do a discount on them between 3pm – 8pm, Monday to Friday. The cocktail menu consisted of some pretty unusual cocktails… Ram Berry Jam (Fizzy citrus spritzer with Finlandia Grapefruit and raspberry Jam) and Gingerbread Colada (Appleton VX and Koko Kanu rums with pineapple and coconut) I was pretty impressed with the bartenders making the orders so fast – throwing bottles everywhere!!

After a few glasses or wine, it was time for some much needed food. We ordered vegetarian quesadillas – soft flour tortillas filled with roasted seasonal vegetables & cheese, plantain & halloumi – grilled with roasted red peppers and served with fiery habanera salsa and finally Barrios Central’s famous nachos loaded with homemade guacamole pico de gallo, salsa verde, chipotle salsa, sour cream and delicious Monterey Jack cheese. I have to say the food went down perfectly with the wine. The nachos were my favourite, as the cheese just melted off them and the guacamole was to die for. For big eaters there was Carne Asada – tender spiced beef steak with freshly made Pico de Gallo and tomatillo salsa and Barrio Chicken Wings – spicy & succulent (which looked amazing!)

Throughout the whole evening the waitress made sure we had everything we wanted. I had a fabulous evening and we even had a little dance…

Thanks to the team at Soho Barrio Central

What to wear on Valentine’s Day

Every girls needs a pretty dress for their date on Valentine’s Day. I found some total beauties in Miss Selfridge.

I am not really a Valentine’s Day type of girl, but if I was, the perfect date would be dinner at the OXO tower. I have been a few times and the view is just amazing – you can see the whole of London. The cocktails are pretty special and the food is too. They are doing a Valentine’s Day set menu, I just had a peak at it and it looks incredible, this desert sounds to die for – Chocolate plate
(marmalade and caramelia truffle, caraway and hazelnut mousse, cinnamon and coffee smoke
white chocolate fondant, blonde chocolate tart) – AMAZINGGGG!!

So (in my little world) if I was going to the OXO tower I would be wearing either of the dresses below, as I love them..

Jaquard Shift Dress

Blue Scallop Hem Lace Dress

Mini Pu Peplum Dress

Lace Insert Drape Dress

What are your plans for Valentine’s day? Girls night out?

Next Press Day SS13

I attended the SS13 Next Press day last week at the beautiful St Martins Lane Hotel and my gosh, did it make me wish summer was here already!! It was full of beautiful bikinis, summer dresses, flip flops, kimonos, basically everything that reminded me of the summer holidays!

Next always showcase their products so well at press days. I am a huge fan of their shoes – so here are a few of my favs

(the electric blue ones would go so well with a white summery dress)

I fell in love with their under wear range, such a great range of colours and designs.  It is always important for a girl to feel good in some pretty underwear, so this is a must all year round not just for summer!!

Next also have some lovely home ware products which I personally LOVE…from funky arms chairs to stylish cushions, they have everything to make your house look chic and sophisticated.

It is always important for a girl to have ‘The dress which they can wear to special occasions, work events, a girl’s night out etc. I saw this stunning dress and thought that is definitely a dress every girl must have in their wardrobe.

Yummy treats were given to us, including macaroons, sandwiches, mini cup cakes and of course delicious Bellini’s (my fav!!)

Thanks to Next for such a stunning press day and for making me want it to be summer already!

Girls Night

I bought this amazing dress from Topshop a few weeks ago.. and couldn’t wait to wear it. Me and my two best friends decided to go on a girls night out last weekend, so I thought.. right, perfect opportunity to wear my new dress.

We had so much fun, we went to Amika which is just off Bond Street – It’s a great club to go to on a Saturday night! The music was great..we drank a lot and danced a lot, standard night for us girls!!

Here are a few pics of me and the girls on our night out.

My girls… *LOVE*
