Barrior Central Review

Thursday nights are the new Friday nights…so my bessie and I went for dinner and cocktails at Barrio Central! As soon as I walked in, the place was buzzing with quite a ‘party like’ atmosphere; it was 7.45 on a Thursday night and it felt like everyone was preparing for the weekend!
The waitress was very attentive; as soon as I walked in she asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a bottle of white wine off the discount menu, which meant we got £5 off (always a plus before pay day!!)

If you are feeling a few cocktails on a week night definitely head to Barrio Central, as they do a discount on them between 3pm – 8pm, Monday to Friday. The cocktail menu consisted of some pretty unusual cocktails… Ram Berry Jam (Fizzy citrus spritzer with Finlandia Grapefruit and raspberry Jam) and Gingerbread Colada (Appleton VX and Koko Kanu rums with pineapple and coconut) I was pretty impressed with the bartenders making the orders so fast – throwing bottles everywhere!!

After a few glasses or wine, it was time for some much needed food. We ordered vegetarian quesadillas – soft flour tortillas filled with roasted seasonal vegetables & cheese, plantain & halloumi – grilled with roasted red peppers and served with fiery habanera salsa and finally Barrios Central’s famous nachos loaded with homemade guacamole pico de gallo, salsa verde, chipotle salsa, sour cream and delicious Monterey Jack cheese. I have to say the food went down perfectly with the wine. The nachos were my favourite, as the cheese just melted off them and the guacamole was to die for. For big eaters there was Carne Asada – tender spiced beef steak with freshly made Pico de Gallo and tomatillo salsa and Barrio Chicken Wings – spicy & succulent (which looked amazing!)

Throughout the whole evening the waitress made sure we had everything we wanted. I had a fabulous evening and we even had a little dance…

Thanks to the team at Soho Barrio Central

Chelsea Darling

I was kindly invited to one of Chelsea’s top Gastro Pubs, The Builders Arms last Wednesday for a gorgeous four course meal. Myself and Mel had previously been there before, but I couldn’t quite remember it as I had, had far too many cocktails! So this time I made sure I stayed sober, well kind of!!

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to Geronimo Inns for such a wonderful evening, I met some lovely bloggers, ate some delicious food and drank (maybe a little too much) beautiful wine.

So, I guess you all want to know what we ate..
