The V Day outfit

The big V day is coming up very soon (to be precise it is 22 days) and the one thing a girl worries about it ‘what am I going to wear for dinner.’ For single girls it is all about going out with the girls and having some cocktails, so you can forget about the dreaded V day!!

I came across some great cheap going out dresses, which are perfect for a dinner date on Mary Jane Fashion. I find going for dinner one of the hardest things to dress up for as you don’t want to go too over the top, but then you want to show you have made an effort. I am really into collar dresses, and what is great, is that you can wear them to work, on a girls night out, shopping trip.. they are just easy to wear and they always look good.

Here are a few of my favs for a valentines day look

A black polka dot collared smock dress is an easy win for a date night

A tartan dress always goes down well!!

I LOVE the pattern on this aztec shift dress 🙂

Go for something a little different, maybe opt for a coloured playsuit

OR this sexy little number, peplum dresses are always a good choice

Which one is your fav? Be sure to check out Mary Jane Fashion.. enjoy!! x

Your Alter Ego

I was invited to an amazing event a few weeks back, but I couldn’t attend 😦 it was for The Colour Studio, which is a bespoke colouring service from award winning British bridal shoe brand Rainbow Club. The Colour Studio offers a bespoke service whereby colour technicians will hand dye any pair of shoes from 3 Rainbow Club collections to the colour of your choice. AMAZING right!?

The blogger event involved an exciting design challenge that celebrated the festive season’s ultimate accessory, your alter ego!! The challenge was to transform a plain pair of shoes into a sparkly pair of heels. I was so upset to miss out on the event so they sent me the pair of shoes which I had requested previously!! I LOVE them.. thanks so much  Rainbow Club and the lovely Kelsey for sending me them! They are going to be my new Christmas shoes 🙂

Do you like them?

British Fashion Awards

This is my first post since July.. haven not posted on my blog for a while, it’s made me realise how much I miss it, so I thought I would do a come back post!!

Last night I attended the British Fashion Awards thanks to the amazing guys at Hidden Fashion. It was one night I will NEVER forget. We arrived at the amazing Colosseum  and as soon as we walked in we were given a glass of champagne, the champagne did not stop for the first 2 hours!! Myself and my girl Tash were mingling and drinking far too much champers for a Monday night. The awards then commenced and WOW we were in a room with Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Nicholas Kirkwood, Lulu Guinness, Arizona Muse, Christopher Kane, Alexa Chung!! OK too many to names to name, but it was just incredible.. seeing Kate Moss run up on stage and accept her special recognition award was a real special moment! I can’t name all my fav moments, but it was one memorable night!!

Now, onto the after party! We somehow got into VIP and suddenly we were rubbing shoulders with some pretty special people, speaking to Daisy Low was very fun and having my photo taken with Christopher Kane was pretty up there too. The party then moved onto the St Martins Hotel, where we chatted, drank lots of amazing tequila cocktails and danced the night away.

Thank you again to the lovely guys at Hidden Fashion and of course the British Fashion Awards for an amazing night!

I wore a dress, which I had been dying to wear for a few months now, it is the amazing three floor dress – def worth checking them out!

In need of a cocktail dress?

I have been so busy over the past few weeks I have not had time to blog.. which upsets me slightly. But I couldn’t resist writing a blog post about the stunning dresses on Girl Meets Dress. I am a huge fan of the cocktail dress range.. from uber sexy to ultra sophisticated. Every girl needs a statement cocktail dress to wear on a good girly night out or on a special occasion

I first came across this site a year ago, and I remember thinking what an amazing idea it was to hire dresses to wear and then send them back. I have an awful obsession of only being able to wear a dress once on a night out (I can maybe wear it a year later) It is bad I know..but it means Girl Meets Dress is the perfect site for a girl like me!!

I thought I would put together my top 5 cocktail dresses from Girl Meets Dress.

Libertine by Giles Deacon

On Monday night I attended the Libertine by Giles Deacon launch hosted by QVC at the stunning Ivy. I had never been before and heard so much about The Ivy so I was very excited.

I walked around the room staring at the beautiful jewellery Рit was all about the statement pieces, the big rings and oddly shaped (but in a good way!!) of course there were delicious canap̩s and champers flowing..

I bumped into the lovely Aisling from Fash-ling and Sarah from City Girl’s Fashion Box chatting all things blogger related 😉

The room was quite dark so my pics aren’t too great, but here are a few snaps for you..

It was the place to be on a Monday evening for sure!!

Here are also my fav items from the Giles Deacon collection (of course they are ALL statement rings!!)

Check out the Libertine by Giles Deacon collection here

Huge thanks to the guys at Mischief PR and QVC

Cirque du soleil

A few weeks ago I went to see Cirque du soleil at the stunning Royal Albert Hall and I had to blog about it, as it was such an amazing evening.

I can’t actually explain in words how amazing it was, you basically have to check out this video to see what I am talking about..

I wasn’t aloud to take pics, but I sneaked a few cheeky ones in!

The dancers were just incredible, the tricks they did were so impressive, every minuet I was jumping off my seat with excitement and constantly ‘wooing’ and clapping. There were times I would hold my breathe as the tricks were so dangerous you would feel they were going to hurt themselves (obviously they didn’t) But it is definitely a MUST SEE!!

No other show with compare to this.. get your tickets now

An evening at Ronnie Scott’s

I went dine at Ronnie Scott’s last Monday evening, London’s legendary jazz club and what an evening it was. I didn’t really know what to expect as I have never been to a Jazz club before, so I was really excited about the evening ahead.

As soon as I walked into the restaurant it was dark and I couldn’t see a thing (great start) but straight away the waiter walked me to our seats. The musicians were playing, everyone was talking, drinking and the atmosphere was just buzzing!!

As soon as I looked at the menu I knew what to order. I went for diver-caught Scottish king scallops with cauliflower purée and vanilla foam to start with, fillet of halibut with braised salsify, pancetta, charlotte potatoes and saffron butter sauce for mains, we then shared the apple and cinnamon tart with prune Armagnac cream for desert. We drank cosmopolitans, prosecco and a few too many glasses of muscat to end the evening nicely (well of what i can remember!!)

I can’t recommend the place enough, the music, food, atmosphere and waiters were all amazing! It is definitely somewhere to go for a special occasion, I was certainly impressed.

I wasn’t allowed to take pics.. but this is what it looks like to give you a feel of the place!

Whats is your favourite London restaurant?

Barrior Central Review

Thursday nights are the new Friday nights…so my bessie and I went for dinner and cocktails at Barrio Central! As soon as I walked in, the place was buzzing with quite a ‘party like’ atmosphere; it was 7.45 on a Thursday night and it felt like everyone was preparing for the weekend!
The waitress was very attentive; as soon as I walked in she asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a bottle of white wine off the discount menu, which meant we got £5 off (always a plus before pay day!!)

If you are feeling a few cocktails on a week night definitely head to Barrio Central, as they do a discount on them between 3pm – 8pm, Monday to Friday. The cocktail menu consisted of some pretty unusual cocktails… Ram Berry Jam (Fizzy citrus spritzer with Finlandia Grapefruit and raspberry Jam) and Gingerbread Colada (Appleton VX and Koko Kanu rums with pineapple and coconut) I was pretty impressed with the bartenders making the orders so fast – throwing bottles everywhere!!

After a few glasses or wine, it was time for some much needed food. We ordered vegetarian quesadillas – soft flour tortillas filled with roasted seasonal vegetables & cheese, plantain & halloumi – grilled with roasted red peppers and served with fiery habanera salsa and finally Barrios Central’s famous nachos loaded with homemade guacamole pico de gallo, salsa verde, chipotle salsa, sour cream and delicious Monterey Jack cheese. I have to say the food went down perfectly with the wine. The nachos were my favourite, as the cheese just melted off them and the guacamole was to die for. For big eaters there was Carne Asada – tender spiced beef steak with freshly made Pico de Gallo and tomatillo salsa and Barrio Chicken Wings – spicy & succulent (which looked amazing!)

Throughout the whole evening the waitress made sure we had everything we wanted. I had a fabulous evening and we even had a little dance…

Thanks to the team at Soho Barrio Central
